. Darla Wantland Johnston 

                              May 24, 1952 - February 24, 2025

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Darla Wantland Johnston, passed peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 24, 2025.  Her presence in our lives was a gift that we will cherish forever.

Darla was born on May 24, 1952, in the charming town of Evanston, Wyoming, to the nurturing and loving parents, Robert amd Winnifred Wantland.  Her early years at Viewmont High School culminated in her graduation as a proud member of the Class of 1970.

With a strong work ethic and compassionate spirit, Darla dedicated her career to serving others as a dental assistant and x-ray technician at LDS Hospital.  For over 20 years, she also shared her talents through her Avon business, bringing joy and beauty into the lives of those around her.

Darla's adventurous spirit led her to serve in the U.S. Army from 1980 to 1984.  Her service in the Army was a significant part of her life, during which she met the love of her life, Gerry.  They were united in marriage on September 2, 1983, in her mother's backyard, beginning a loving partnership that lasted a lifetime.

Darla's passions included shopping, nurturing her garden, and cultivatiing beautiful flowers - a reflection of her vibrant personality and love for life.

Darla found immense joy in her family, and her legacy lives on in her husband Gerald, their three wonderful boys - Josh, Jarred, and Gerry Jr. - as well as, in the laughter and love of her 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

In our hearts, Darla will always remain a beloved guiding light, and while she may no longer be with us, her spirit will forever inspire and comfort us.

We invite you to join us in celebraing Darla's remarkable life at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah.  A visitation willl be held from 1 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the celebration.
