Ronald Thompson

Ronald Thompson

When Ron was asked what he wanted written in his obituary he said, "Family ... serve others.  It's not complicated."

On September 15, 2019, Ron passed peacefully away in his home, leaving those he loved to be embraced with open arms by loved ones on the other side.

He ws born on March 27, 1952, in Odgen, Utah to Robert Thurman Thompson and Evelyn Pearl Weir.  His family moved to Bountiful when he was 10 years old.  He had many great friends who influenced his life for good.

He was a valiant member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He served his Heavenly Father diligently throughout his life.  He served a mission to Northern England from 1971-73.  He was home only 4 days when he met his eternal companion, Ann Gardner.  They were married Nov, 16, 1973, in the Salt Lake Temple.  They were blessed with three wonderful children, Jana, Bryan (Jodie), Megan (Mark) Heywood, 4 cherished grandchildren, brother Robert (Mary Lynn), sister Sharilyn (LeRoy) Broderick, brother Craig (Sheri).

He worked at Packaging Corporation of America for 45 years.  He was a hard worker and went the extra mile in everything he did.

He loved his Nissan 350Z, 4 wheelers, Bear Lake, his family and his dog, Molly.  He was a loving father and husband and took very good care of his family.  We dearly love him and greatly appreciate all he did for us.  He will be profoundly missed.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the many friends, family and caregivers who helped Ron throughout the final days of his earthly life.

Funeral services were held Sept. 21 at the Centerville North State Center.  Internment in the Centerville Cemetery.
