Debra Mecham Burdett

March 28, 1951 — June 14, 2025

Debra Mecham Burdett was born March 28, 1951, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is the first child of Arlin and Ruth Mecham. She passed away Saturday morning, June 14, 2025, in Bountiful, Utah, from heart failure.

She lived in Rose Park until she was 8 years old when her family moved to the Val Verda area of Bountiful. She attended Davis County schools and she graduated from Viewmont High School in 1970.

In 1993 Debbie donated bone marrow to her brother Lon which saved him from acute myelogenous leukemia.

Debbie loved crocheting, reading, sci-fi movies and her cats. She liked sharing her crocheted items with others.

Debbie spent the last few years of her life at The Beaumont Assisted Living Center in Bountiful. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Heritage Branch.

She is survived by her siblings, Shirley Larsen (Doug) Kaysville, Utah; Arlene Rush, Kaysville, Utah; Carol Mecham, Bountiful, Utah; David Mecham (Nanette) Layton, Utah; Lon Mecham (Kreada), Syracuse, Utah and many nieces and nephews.
